It combines GPS navigation, a Windows operating system, Bluetooth, built in Spectra Survey Pro Standard software, an ergonomic keypad and military-grade durability to measure and calculate coordinates, distances, angles, elevations and more.  Its rugged design allows you to work in harsh outdoor environments and it is packed with connectivity features that surveyors depend on.

Screen and Keypad

The Spectra Precision Ranger 3L has a dual-layer glass touchscreen for better viewing of graphics and maps, even in bright outdoor conditions. It features a full alphanumeric keypad with directional buttons and four programmable buttons for easy and faster text and data entry.

Bluetooth and GPS

Its built-in Bluetooth capability lets you connect to field equipment over a distance of up to 30 feet without cables. In addition, the integrated GPS receiver with enabled WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) improves navigation using less battery power, even under trees and near tall buildings.

Connection and Memory

The Ranger 3L also has an accelerometer that automatically rotates the graphics on the screen based on the device’s angle and a compass with a robust calibration method for better accuracy. With this survey tool, you can transfer data easily to your laptop or PC using a high-capacity SD card, USB memory stick or Wi-Fi. This field surveying data collector comes standard with a high-speed 800 MHz processor and 256 MB RAM for running large applications smoothly and 8 GB of onboard memory for storing data.

Windows OS and Compatible Programs

Powered by Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional operating system, this portable data collector runs the mobile version of all your favorite programs including Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Media Player.

It also comes installed with Adobe Reader for viewing PDF files and SatViewer for configuring and enabling the advanced features of the integrated GPS. This app communicates with the GPS receiver to compute your current position, speed, direction and height.

Spectra Survey Standard Software

This third generation Ranger is loaded with Spectra Survey Pro, a comprehensive on-board data collection software package for surveyors. It gives you a complete set of tools for data collection, calculations, mapping, data storage, data management and data transfer to your laptop or PC. It also has a user-friendly interface, multiple language support and a customizable home screen for launching your favorite programs.

Spectra Survey Standard is the base model of Survey Pro software and is a complete data collection package for surveyors. It contains a complete COGO (Coordinate Geometry) suite including triangle solutions, map check and predetermined area, as well as traverse, sideshot and staking routines. It has all the essential features required to properly manage a survey job.

Rugged and Reliable

With an IP-67 rating, this mobile data collector has the ability to withstand sand or dust for at least 8 hours of operation and can survive immersion in up to 3.3 feet of water for 30 minutes. It meets rigorous military standard for drops, vibration, humidity and extreme temperatures. Therefore, you can operate the Spectra Ranger 3L in blazing heat, subzero cold, driving rain or dusty job sites – places you could not take a consumer grade handheld computer. It can also survive 26 drops from 4 feet high onto plywood-over-concrete floors!
