The Leica Rod Eye 180 Digital RF Receiver has all the same features as the Rod Eye 140 and 160, but includes digital detectors and Smart Target Technology that provides automatic slope catching and integrated radio communication with 1/64-inch accuracy. With the touch of a button, this detector allows you to align the laser plane’s horizontal, vertical and dual axis. In addition, it features the ability to correct the laser plane using the Smart Lock function.
The Rod Eye 180 displays digital information above and below grade in mm, cm, inches, fractions of inches and feet. There are LCD indications on the front and back of the unit and 15 laser beam grade references. The three LEDs are extra help to reference the detector’s position, while the capture function is for storing a measurement to display later. The Rod Eye RF laser detector includes an anti-strobe protection and an out of beam display to direct the receiver back to the direction of the beam when it is out of range.
This digital detector has an IP67 rating making it dustproof and water resistant up to three feet. It also includes a rod clamp that keeps it mounted firmly to the grade rod. With a 50-hour battery life, low battery alert and auto shuts off feature, it will last all day in the field.
