The TLG is characterised by its light weight and easy handling. The TLG is held over an open groundwater measuring point. By tapping the crank handle, the lock is released and the solder sinks to the steel cable at a constant speed. Once the solder reaches the water table surface, the TLG locks the rope drum. The distance covered by the steel rope can be easily read on the 5-digit roller counter in meters and centimeters. Subsequently, the solder is recovered from the measuring point by means of the crank handle without any great effort. Owing to metal solder, measurements performed through the liquid level will be carried out all the way to the very bottom. For this purpose, simply screw the plastic solder off the lock and screw in the metal solder.
