Ultrasound and 360-Degree Measurements Option
The Haglof Vertex VL5 Laser Rangefinder features ultrasound technology. The ultrasound can be used to measure short distances in dense vegetation areas. To use the ultrasound feature you will need a T3 transponder and using this accessory with the plot centre staff or monopod will allow you to take circular measurements.
This laser rangefinder also has 2 very powerful functions: the Delta Height function and the Hazard Trees function. The first one is very useful while calculating sag lines, like power lines. It gives you the height difference of a point located on a straight imaginary line between two points and a third point located at the sag line between those two same points. The Hazard Trees function will estimate the risk of one object hitting another situated on its direction in case of falling. This function is very convenient when working with trees standing close to a building.
The Haglof VL5 works with different measuring units: meters, feet, degrees, grads and percent. This is an excellent tool for engineers and land surveyors.
